One diet plan that’s really garnering a great deal of attention as of late as many of those looking for quick weight loss success flock to it in hopes that it will help them land their dream weight is the low carb diet.

Everywhere you turn everyone seems to be using some low carb diet.  Whether it’s a celebrity stating that it’s how they achieved their red carpet body or your neighbour touting the benefits that a low carb diet has to offer, you’re very likely questioning whether this will be the right diet for you.

So what should you know about the low carb diet? Let’s go over some of the key facts to remember.

The Premise Of The Low Carb Diet

The very first thing that you do need to understand is the premise behind a low carb diet.  The idea with the low carb diet is that you’ll eliminate all the grains, starches, and whole wheat products from your diet so all you’re left with is lean proteins, healthy fats, vegetables, and on some low carb diets, fruits.

It’s important to realize that there are different varieties of low carb diets – you can have a moderate low carb diet where fruit is still allowed and carb intake is around 20-25% of your total daily calorie intake and then ultra-low carb diets, also referred to as ketogenic diets where you take your carb intake down to around just 5% of your total daily calorie intake.

These are the much more extreme approaches and will require absolute dedication to maintain them.

How A Low Carb Diet Helps With Weight Loss

The primary reason why the low carb diet will really help out on the weight loss side of things is because it’s going to help to dramatically lower your hunger level as hardly any insulin will be present in the body.

It’s the increase and fall in insulin and blood glucose levels that tend to bring about hunger on any diet plan, so these really help to resolve that.

Secondly, as soon as you start up on a low carb diet you’re going to instantly begin to shed a high amount of water weight, so that fact also helps to improve the rate of weight loss you see.

It is important to realize however that this water weight loss is not true fat loss and that it will come back on if you start eating carbs again.

Making A Low Carb Diet Work For You

So if you are going to use a low carb diet, the few things that you should note is that you should never cut out your vegetables.  Eating enough vegetables will be imperative for success and those who cut them out will put themselves at risk for deficiency.

Furthermore, low carb diets by nature do tend to slow the metabolism over time because carbohydrate intake is heavily associated with the function of the thyroid gland, so for this reason you would be well advised to also supplement with a metabolic boosting fat burning such as Phen375.  This will help to offset this effect so it doesn’t impact the rate of weight loss that you see.

So there you have the need to know facts about low carb diets.  If you’re serious about your success, make sure that you’re carefully considering this diet and whether it’s right for you.
